Katharine O'Brien is a London-born, dyslexic author with a lifelong love of myth, fantasy and history.
She holds a BA in Classical Civilisation from the University of Warwick and an MA in Antiquity, specialising in Egyptology, from the University of Birmingham. Years spent studying the ancient world gave her a deep fascination with the stories that have shaped civilisations, and it was only a matter of time before she started writing her own.
The Children of Loki duology is Katharine's debut. She wrote HEL in ten months, then spent two years navigating the winding road to publication. That journey taught her more about persistence, self-belief and the publishing industry than any degree ever could.
As a dyslexic writer, Katharine is proof that the way you process words doesn't define the stories you can tell. She believes that everyone has a tale worth sharing, and that the best myths are the ones we never stop retelling.
